Hunting in Boulder Junction

Hundreds of thousands of acres of public forest land are open to hunting in the Boulder Junction area. Annual hunting seasons include white-tailed deer, wild turkey, black bear and ruffed grouse.

The largest single area of public hunting land in Boulder Junction is the Northern Highland–American Legion State Forest. The forest totals 225,000 acres and includes hundreds of lakes and a number of areas that are carefully managed as ruffed grouse and woodcock habitat.
